Enjoy the vibrant ocean front promenade, with parklands, cafes, walking tracks, pools and playgrounds and an amazing man made, stinger free pool complete with sandy beaches for the beautiful people to parade with the Coral Sea to one side and cafe lined streets the other. Inland from Townsville, fossickers still try their luck at the legendary gold rush town of Charters Towers to the south west, which once had its own Stock Exchange. And in the Paluma National Park, discover cascading waterfalls and the elusive fauna, the platypus and the eastern water dragon.
