Amazingly, Victor Harbor was once the export port for the Whaling Station on nearby Granite Island. Visit the South Australian Whaling Centre to see how little we knew such a short time ago - and how much we have changed. See displays of the whaling industry that much of coastal Australia grew from and learn of some 25 species of dolphins and whales. Discover the early colonial architecture of Victor Harbor with excellent cafes and restaurants serving fresh local produce and country pubs serving great country atmosphere. Take an unusual journey 600 metres across the sea to experience a guided Penguin Discovery Tour or close up views of marine life below the sea at an Oceanarium.
