DAY 1 Welcome to Uluru (Ayers Rock)

Feel the spirit of the Red Centre as you fly into Uluru today. You will be transferred from Ayers Rock Airport to your resort hotel. Relax and spend the rest of the day making use of the hotel facilities or take a short stroll around Ayers Rock Resort.

Surrounded by an endless expanse of ochre sands, Uluru rises majestically from the ancient earth, its vibrant hues transforming with the shifting sunlight. Each day, the breathtaking spectacle of sunrise and sunset cast a fiery glow upon the rock. Here, you'll connect with the profound spirituality of the Anangu people, the traditional custodians of this land. DAY 2 Uluru Sunrise, Field of Light, Guided Tour of Uluru (Ayers Rock), Bush Yarns & Sunset Experience

Witness the sheer enchantment of an Uluru sunrise and be captivated by the breathtaking Field of Light – an absolutely mesmerising installation fusing art, light and nature with the emotional core of the Australian outback. Awaken before sunrise and venture to a desert viewpoint overlooking Uluru. In the midst of darkness, the globally renowned "Field of Light” unfolds dramatically before you - adorned with 50,000 slender stems crowned by radiant frosted glass orbs, sprawling across an area equivalent to seven football fields, forming an entrancing homage to the desert's splendour and the timelessness of Uluru.

From here we ascend to a private dune-top viewing area, where a panorama of the awakening Red Centre stretches out before us - witness the landscape's breathtaking transformation. The radiant sun rises behind Uluru, casting its warm glow upon the land and the sprawling Kata Tjuta. With each passing minute, the desert reveals its beauty in the gentle morning light and the Field of Light gracefully fades. From this elevated position, we capture Uluru and Kata Tjuta, their ancient forms bathed in the soft, golden embrace of a new day.

Back at the resort, embark on an immersive journey into the heart of Aboriginal culture with a Bush Yarns experience. Guided by experienced Aboriginal storytellers, delve deep into the rich tapestry of legends and lore that have been passed down through generations. As we listen to these ancient tales, we are introduced to the remarkable tools and techniques that have sustained indigenous communities in the Central Desert and engage with the local Pitjantjatjara language, a living testament to the enduring spirit of Indigenous cultures and peoples.

Later in the afternoon, we surround ourselves once again in the ancient wonders of Uluru. The first glimpse of this iconic silhouette and the enormity of Uluru never fails to amaze as we drive around the base revealing the many colours and faces of this incredible symbol – each mark carrying its own story of creation. Enjoy fully guided small-group walks of Mala and Kuniya and visit Mutitjulu Waterhole, a sacred site nestled in Uluru's contours where we learn of the Creation stories of Liru - the poisonous snake, and Kuniya - the python. Witness the art of the ancients etched into the rock and arrive at the Talinguru Nyakunytjaku viewing area, where an uninterrupted panorama of Uluru, framed by Kata Tjuta in the distance, unfolds before you. Settle in for the breathtaking colours of Uluru at sunset accompanied by sparkling wine and appetisers.

DAY 3 Kata Tjuta (Olgas) Sunrise Tour, Astro-Hub & Astronomy Session & Sunset Camel Ride

Enjoy an early pick up this morning and travel into the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to view a spectacular sunrise over the 36 domes that comprise Kata Tjuta also known as “The Olgas”. On arrival, we head to the best vantage point to witness the desert come alive as the sun’s morning glow illuminates this sacred masterpiece. Enjoy an outback picnic breakfast on the western side of Kata Tjuta before continuing to Walpa Gorge, named for the wind that whistles between the massive domes of Kata Tjuta. Learn about the cultural significance of this sacred site before taking a stroll through this geological formation and learning about the environment that shaped this massive conglomerate of rock domes.

The remoteness of our desert location reveals a truly remarkable night sky. This afternoon, enjoy an interactive astronomy session at the Astro-Hub hosted by the resident astronomer to understand the wonders that can be witnessed from here. Learn more about the stars, planets, galaxy, Big Bang theory, the cosmos, the enigmatic world of dark energy and Australia's pivotal role at the forefront of astronomical exploration. Set out on a celestial journey with a special screening of awe-inspiring astronomy documentary "Capturing the Cosmos", narrated by the iconic Geoffrey Rush. Engage in a Q&A session led by the resident Astronomy Guide. Allow yourself to be transported to the far reaches of the cosmos, gaining insights that will leave you with a newfound appreciation for the mysteries of the universe and the dedicated individuals who unravel its secrets. Be sure to gaze towards the heavens this evening with newfound wisdom and wonder.

This evening, experience an enchanting camel ride through the awe-inspiring desert landscapes - as the sun gracefully dips behind Uluru and Kata Tjuta and seasoned cameleers weave captivating outback tales of the land. Be inspired by the stunning surrounds of Uluru and Kata Tjuta as you gently coast along the sand dunes some ten feet off the ground. Witness the mesmerising transformation of colours as the sun sets. And as twilight descends, return to the farm to unwind and savour Australian beer, wine, champagne, and the flavours of the outback, including the renowned freshly baked beer bread damper.

Wander through the fully working saddlery where all of the camel saddles are handmade. Discover 130 years of history surrounding camels and the Afghan cameleers and their pivotal role in opening up the outback in the ‘Staging Post’, including a fully restored Cobb and Co stagecoach. See the camel race track, home of the Uluru Camel Cup and trophies won from all over Australia. You will leave with lifelong memories of the outback and have a new found respect for the ‘rockstar’ camels.

Note: During December to March, the walk through Walpa Gorge is replaced with stops at the Southern Dune Platform (panoramic views of Kata Tjuta) and the Western lookout (travel closer to Kata Tjuta), with a short drive on the famous Great Central Road to the western boundary of the National Park.

DAY 4 Bush Food, Uluru (Ayers Rock) Sunset & Special Uluru Dinner Experience

This morning you have free time to experience Uluru your own way, perhaps wander the Yulara town centre, relax with a coffee or take a scenic flight over the spectacular Uluru.

Later, we indulge in an unforgettable Bush Food Experience. Delight in a fascinating tapestry of flavours as you delve into the secrets of local bush tucker. Gain insights into the intricate art of hunting, gathering, and preparing these unique bush foods. DAY 5 Tour from Uluru (Ayers Rock) to Alice Springs

This afternoon, we depart from Ayers Rock Resort and tour north to Alice Springs. Learn about the landmarks and history along the way from your informative guide, as we traverse the Red Centre’s epic outback landscapes. Take in views of Atila (Mt Conner), a flat topped mountain rising over 300 metres that is often mistaken for Uluru. Pause at the Erldunda Roadhouse, a perfect place to perhaps purchase a spot of afternoon tea. Arrive in Alice Springs this evening and be delivered to your central Alice Springs hotel.

DAY 6 Alice Springs Luxury Coach Tour

Enjoy a morning at your leisure to explore Alice Springs, before setting off on our 4 hour luxury coach tour with great informative commentary from our experienced local guide. Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service (headquarters of the globally respected medical service providing a critical link to remote communities throughout the Northern Territory), Historic Telegraph Station (site of the first European settlement in Alice Springs, established in 1872 to relay messages between Darwin and Adelaide), School of the Air (provides education to primary school aged children living on remote properties throughout the Northern Territory since 1951), Anzac Hill (dedicated as a war memorial to honour those that have fallen in Australia’s wars, with magnificent panoramic views over Alice and the surrounding West MacDonnell Ranges) and Alice Springs Reptile Centre (amazing NT animals like, saltwater crocodiles, huge goannas, frill-neck lizards and Gecko Cave).

DAY 7 West MacDonnell Range Luxury Coach Tour

Today explore the iconic West MacDonnell Ranges that form the dramatic ochre red back-drop to Alice Springs, including Simpson’s Gap, Standley Chasm, Ellery Creek Big Hole and Ormiston Gorge. This amazing Central Australian geological feature has many hidden treasures for you to discover.

Travel west on Larapinta Drive, passing the John Flynn Memorial (foot of Mt Gillen), see what remains of the twin ghost gums (famous painting by Albert Namatjira). Stop at Simpsons Gap with its beautiful permanent water hole, admire Standley Chasm (amazing red cleft that glows) whilst enjoying a delicious morning tea and perhaps walk into the spellbinding Chasm (Angkerle Creek bed). Visit the Ochre Pits to admire the vivid colours of the mineral walls – mined for generations by the Arrernte people of the region. Experience Ormiston Gorge and waterhole where we pause to enjoy a delicious ploughman’s picnic lunch, with time to enjoy the refreshing waterhole (perhaps have a well deserved swim). All the time spotting for the amazing wildlife such as eagles, kites and falcons (soaring above the range on warm currents) as well as black footed rock wallabies and desert lizards. We complete our incredible West Macdonnells experience at Ellery Creek Big Hole – one of Central Australia’s most pristine - where we have the chance to enjoy a swim in the summer months.
