DAY 1 Welcome to Perth

Feel the great expansive openness of the West Coast with its big blue skies and its ever developing but still youthful capital city of Perth. You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Perth.

DAY 2 Explore Perth and Fremantle

The beautiful city of Perth is fringed by the Indian Ocean and the Swan River. It has spectacular beaches, a friendly welcoming ambience and a laid back lifestyle dominated by its seemingly perpetual sunny climes. Chic and stylish, Perth effortlessly combines this beach-outdoor lifestyle with its modern, urban big-city feel. You'll marvel at the spectacular cityscapes from beautiful Kings Park, and enjoy the balmy waters of the Indian Ocean at the world-famous Cottesloe beach. Fremantle's historic colonial streets pulsate with the energy of street-performers and buskers, couples walk hand-in-hand through its colourful and lively markets. The lively street cafes and restaurants along its famous 'cappuccino strip' are perfect resting places to indulge in a spot of people watching.

Today you will see Perth City, the famous WACA (Western Australia cricket ground), impressive Swan Bell Tower, Perth Town Hall, St Georges Terrace (hub of Australia's minerals and energy industries), Barrack Street Jetty, Perth Mint (working gold mint, stunning sandstone colonial architecture), Old Swan Brewery and Royal Perth Yacht Club (once home to the America's Cup). Stop at magnificent Kings Park for spectacular views over Perth skyline, Swan River and Melville Water. Walk through the tree canopies on the Tree Top Walk see the 750-year-old boab tree. See famous Cottesloe Beach and the Indian Ocean sunset coastline. Tour Fremantle (historic large working port docks, rich convict history, glorious alfresco outdoor dining, marinas, charming heritage sandstone buildings, modern ocean racing yachts, colonial terraced houses, museums and galleries). Enjoy some free time in Fremantle to explore the colourful streets for yourself, perhaps enjoy a coffee on South Terrace's Cappuccino Strip or indulge in some shopping in the many unique shops or find a bargain at the weekend markets. On our way back to Perth City we see some of Australia's most expensive real-estate at the upmarket Swan River suburbs of Peppermint Grove and Dalkeith. DAY 3 Explore Perth

Western Australia's capital city Perth lies under perpetual cerulean skies, sensational white sand beaches and the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean make it a paradise for nature and outdoor lovers, Perth is abuzz with vibrant bars, restaurants and cafes, the city offers a wealth of great shopping, historic and cultural attractions.

DAY 4 Perth to Albany

Today we experience the coastal scenery and beautiful surrounds of Albany, jagged granite outcrops, giant forests and magnificent National Parks, the ocean offers excellent fishing, diving and whale watching opportunities, we immerse ourselves in Albany's proud and emotive history on a visit to the National ANZAC Centre which honours the memory and sacrifice of the WWI ANZACS.

Our friendly driver will pick us up in a comfortable air-conditioned luxury coach before sharing experiences, fascinating facts and enchanting stories in the on-board full commentary throughout the day.

Travel South towards Albany and pass the Stirling Ranges and Porongorups. Enjoy a special winery lunch with wine tasting before continuing to Mount Clarence and the ANZAC Memorial Centre. Enjoy a self guided tour of the ANZAC Centre before taking a scenic drive along the rugged coastline.

DAY 5 Albany to Pemberton Region

Our journey today takes us through some of Western Australia’s most stunning landscapes, winding through a world of towering karri and tingle forests, their majestic trunks stretching skyward and creating a dappled play of light on the path before us. The Valley of the Giants Tree Top Walk, where you can stroll among the tallest of treetops and immerse yourself in the canopy alive with a myriad of wildlife. Rolling hills and serene pastures then give way again to the mighty emerald forests as we reach our destination for today nestled in the heart of Pemberton’s karri country.

After breakfast, we venture into Torndirrup National Park to witness the awesome power of the Southern Ocean as it pounds against the granite coastal cliffs exploding into The Gap in a momentous spray of water and mist. Step out on to the viewing platform which suspends you over the edge of the abyss for an unparalleled perspective of the rugged coastline. Here, you can also admire the Natural Bridge, an immense rock arch which resembles a bridge suspended above the crashing waves, a testament to nature’s artistry and power. We then visit Albany’s Historic Whaling Station at Discovery Bay for a self-guided tour.

We farewell Albany and journey on to Walpole where we join our local guide for a lunch cruise along the pristine Nornalup Inlet, widely regarded as one of the last great wilderness areas. Next, we will visit the famous Tree Top Walk in the Valley of the Giants which reaches 40 metres high into the forest canopy before relaxing on our scenic drive towards our Pemberton region accommodation for the night.

DAY 6 Pemberton to Margaret River Region

Enjoy a short stroll to the majestic Beedelup Falls this morning, hidden amongst the magnificent karri forest before heading north through the Blackwood Forest. Tour to Australia’s most south westerly point, Augusta and visit the Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean. After lunch, enjoy a drive through the resplendent Boranup Forest on your way to Mammoth Cave where you embark on a guided tour. We then enjoy some free time in the township of Margaret River to explore the quaint shops along the main street.

Our journey continues towards Busselton where we visit the Busselton Jetty, the longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere before we settle into our accommodation late afternoon with time to explore the local surroundings.

DAY 7 Margaret River Region to Perth

Following breakfast, we take a short drive to the charming town of Cowaramup, renowned for the many cow statues which have taken over the town. We explore local chocolate and gourmet produce outlets to delight in some of their delicious samples, also pausing to indulge in a wine tasting of locally produced wine. Lunch is then served with beer and cider tastings at a local brewery. After lunch, travel to Canal Rocks to see the dramatic coastline where the ocean has created natural canals in the stunning granite outcrop before a leisurely drive back to Perth.
