DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful northwest. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

DAY 2 Discover Broome Tour

Enjoy some free time this morning before we experience the perfect introduction to Broome in the afternoon, as we discover the incredible Cable Beach, Chinatown, Gantheaume Point, Roebuck Bay, the renowned Japanese Cemetery and the historic township. Learn the evocative stories of the bravery of the early pearl divers at Willie Creek Pearl Luggers. Visit the heart and soul of Broome – Chinatown - welcoming you with an explosion of vibrance and colour, home to the timeless Sun Pictures (the world's oldest operational movie picture garden). Delight in a stop at Matso's Brewery, a bastion of flavours and stories where we partake in a guided beer tasting led by the knowledgeable staff - the renowned ginger beer takes the spotlight, tantalising the senses. We then set our course for Town Beach, where echoes of Broome's One Day War resound, etching history into the scenery. Delve into the local history as we explore the largest Japanese Cemetery in Australia, a testament to enduring ties woven between Broome and its pearling legacy and then on to colourful Broome Port — a colossal portal to the Kimberley region's grandeur. Step back in time at Gantheaume Point adorned with its dramatic crimson cliffs, famous dinosaur footprints, and Anastasia's Pool. Marvel at the enticing 22km expanse of the spectacular Cable Beach before culminating at Gantheaume Beach, where refreshments and nibbles accompany a sunset spectacle. With hearts full, we conclude, offering a serene return to your accommodation.

DAY 3 Board the True North

Today be picked up from your Broome hotel and transferred to the True North for the start of your 8 day adventure cruising the waters of the awesome Kimberley, with your knowledgeable crew welcoming you aboard around 5:00pm. Enjoy a cocktail with your fellow adventurers before setting off at 6:30pm to Yampi Sound. Indulge in a delectable dinner served enroute, then settle into your cabin to familiarise yourself with the vessel and relax for the evening.

DAY 4 Horizontal Falls and Silica Beach

This morning glide past Cockatoo and Koolan Islands as you enjoy an irresistible breakfast. Horizontal Waterfalls is the highlight today, once described as “one of the greatest natural wonders of the world” by Sir David Attenborough. A true icon of the Kimberley Coast - Horizontal Falls is exhilarating - as you witness the sheer power and mesmerising beauty of the tidal currents rushing through narrow gorges. Huge 12 metre tidal movements create a waterfall effect as they're forced through narrow cliff passages demonstrating the immense power of the Kimberley tides and a spectacular show of the beauty of nature. Experience a thrilling tender ride through the mighty falls and for a truly once in a lifetime experience - witness this natural wonder from your optional air-conditioned helicopter to get a bird’s eye view.

Relax and enjoy the rest of the day on Silica Beach, the pure white silica sand is the only one of her kind on the entire Kimberley coast. Indulge in pure bliss as you lower yourself into the refreshing waters and stroll along squeaky white sands. DAY 5 Sale River and Montgomery Reef

Prepare for an exhilarating morning of exploration as we venture into the enchanting realm of the Sale River. Join our team of passionate naturalists and fellow adventurers for a captivating river expedition, where we'll "ride the tide" to unlock the wonders that await. For the eager anglers among us, the mouth of the Sale River presents the first opportunity to "land a barra," igniting a rush of excitement as we seek to conquer the Kimberley's legendary fishing grounds. Alternatively, an optional adrenaline-pumping heli-fishing adventure awaits, leading us to a rarely fished spot - a paradise for anglers and thrill-seekers alike.

While basking in the warmth of the midday sun, we savour a delectable lunch as our vessel sails towards yet another iconic destination – the magnificent Montgomery Reef. Brace yourself for a sight that defies belief - as 400 square kilometres of vibrant coral reef rises majestically from the ocean's depths creating spectacular cascading waterfalls in the middle of the ocean - one of the great natural wonders of the Kimberley coast. Witness the magical dance of cascading water as the tide recedes, revealing a privileged glimpse into another world teeming with life. Turtles, dugongs and crocodiles, along with an array of sea creatures abound in this remarkable sanctuary. Perhaps jump aboard an optional helicopter flight, a unique and wonderous vantage point from which to admire the grandeur of this living reef unfold in all its glory.

DAY 6 Prince Regent River and King Cascades

Today we embark on a spellbinding journey through the majestic Prince Regent River, where every corner reveals breathtaking scenery that will leave you in awe. Today's adventure promises not only stunning landscapes but also thrilling fishing opportunities, with the possibility to catch mangrove jack and fingermark bream. Be mesmerised by the sheer beauty of this pristine waterway, cutting through rugged sandstone cliffs and majestic gorges.

As we reach spectacular King Cascade, a spring-fed waterfall enveloped in a lush haven of ferns teeming with vibrant wildlife, our vessel will gracefully position itself right under the falls, allowing us to feel the sheer power and wonder of nature up close. Then it's time for more "adventure in the tender," where the thrill of exploration awaits. Lace up your hiking boots as we trek through the wilderness and discover hidden gems along the way. A picture-perfect billabong invites you to take a refreshing swim, immersing yourself in the pure beauty of this untouched paradise. Or, if you seek even more adventure, perhaps follow your curiosity further upriver to witness the breathtaking "Amphitheatre" waterfall. Back on board, another optional helicopter ride awaits where you can marvel at a multitude of freshwater pools and rivers of water cascading down surrounded by wildlife, natural gardens and lush vegetation.

DAY 7 Hunter River and Jackson Falls

Wake this morning in the heart of Hunter River. This spectacular river system will captivate your senses with its 30km of breathtaking scenery. Set against an incredibly beautiful backdrop of red rock cliffs, rainforest and mangroves, its waterways are rich with fat barramundi, succulent mud crabs and are said to have the highest proportion of saltwater crocodiles in the Kimberley. Bask in the solitude of castaway island beaches as you embark on an expedition boat to indulge in the thrill of an exhilarating hike to the hidden gem of Jackson Falls. Or perhaps take flight on an optional helicopter journey, gaining a whole new perspective of this resplendent landscape.

As the sun sets, we will hopefully have time to savour a well-deserved drink on the enchanting Naturaliste Island, immersing ourselves in the magic of the moment, before an overnight cruise to Vansittart Bay.

DAY 8 Eagle Falls & Gwion Gwion Aboriginal Rock Art Galleries

Today, we are captivated by the superb ancient rock art of the Kimberley at Vansittart Bay. These sacred masterpieces bear witness to the rich tapestry of Aboriginal culture, rituals and traditions. Explore the symmetrical, mystical and beautifully depicted Gwion Gwion (Bradshaw) Aboriginal rock art galleries - possibly the oldest ‘paintings’ known to man. These enigmatic rock art galleries unveil vibrant colours and enigmatic symbols, igniting a profound sense of wonder for the timeless wisdom and cultural legacy of the land's traditional custodians. For the fisherman - Vansittart Bay also has a reputation for producing monster mackerel.

One of the best parts of the day is your optional Heli-picnic at Eagle Falls - where indulgence and exceptional natural beauty intertwine to create a truly magical experience - savour a sumptuous picnic lunch surrounded by intoxicating scenery. The tenders then whisk you away to idyllic local beaches and serene creeks – be enchanted by each new discovery. As the day draws to a close, we embark on an overnight cruise to Koolama Bay, where the magic of the Kimberley continues.

DAY 9 Twin Falls and WWII Bomber Wreck

Today we cruise down the magnificent King George River to the Kimberley’s crowning jewel - King George Falls. Western Australia’s highest twin waterfall with a vertical drop of over 80 metres, witness a truly astounding spectacle as water plunges over an ancient sandstone cliff into tidal waters. The Vessel will be anchored at the base of the falls and you can experience trekking, exploring and enjoying all the dramatic scenery surrounding one of the Kimberley’s “Big” rivers. Climb or take the optional helicopter to the top of the falls for a phenomenal view.

Prepare to be transported back in time to a poignant chapter in history as you immerse yourself in the haunting tale of the state-ship bombing during World War II. Learn about the bravery and sacrifices made during those tumultuous days. Afterward, take a gentle stroll at Tranquil Bay, a place where serenity meets natural beauty, and let the tranquillity wash over you, before cruising onwards to the port of Wyndham.

DAY 10 Arrive Wyndham

Today, you will disembark at Wyndham Jetty around 8:00am and be transferred to your Kununurra hotel to enjoy the rest of the day at your own leisure.

Kununurra is a hidden gem in Western Australia's Kimberley region - a striking oasis where untamed landscapes and cultural richness converge. Perhaps stroll the shores of Lake Kununurra, wander through Mirima (Hidden Valley), take a sunset cruise, ponder the mysterious patterns of Zebra Rock, visit plantation shops or taste locally crafted spirits at the Hoochery Distillery.
