The best time to visit Western Australia is undoubtedly during wildflower season, where the landscape erupts into magnificent colour. Travel to WA during September, October or November with this package to experience this remarkable natural phenomenon. There are more than 15,000 species of wildflowers throughout WA - many only found here - such as clusters of splendid rare orchids in the south, prolific inland carpets of everlastings as far as the eye can see to colourful roadside kangaroo paws.

DAYS 1–4 Indian Pacific Sydney to Adelaide to Perth

Fly into Sydney and be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to the Indian Pacific railway station to begin your journey to Perth.

Your epic journey from Sydney to Perth takes you along the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world, it's a journey of contrast encompassing some of Australia's most beautiful and diverse landscapes including the magnificent Blue Mountains and the vast empty expanse of the Nullarbor Plain.   

See below for full details on your Indian Pacific journey. Note: passengers embarking in Adelaide join on Day 2 at the Adelaide train station (without the Sydney to Adelaide component) but with the inclusions on all other days.   

As the Indian Pacific arrives into Perth on day 4, you can sense the laid-back pace of this beautiful city fringed between the Indian Ocean and Swan River. You will be personally meet by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the railway station to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Fremantle.

Days 5–7 Explore Fremantle

The bohemian port town of Fremantle has a unique feel and distinctive cafe lifestyle. See the amazing colonial architecture and experience Fremantle.

Day 8 Tour to Geraldton

Depart Fremantle this morning and travel north along the coastline to Yanchep National Park for an Aboriginal cultural experience. Continue along the coastline to Nambung National Park, home of the eerie Pinnacles, a spectacular series of limestone formations, millions of years old, spread amongst the desert.

Later, visit the HMAS Sydney Memorial and enjoy some free time to explore the seaside township of Geraldton before retiring to your hotel for the night.

Day 9 Tour to Monkey Mia

After breakfast, leave Geraldton and visit Shell Beach, one of only 2 beaches in the world formed completely by billions of coquina bivalve shells. 

Later, continue to Denham and visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery & Visitor Centre and learn about the rare scientific and historical objects housed there before continuing to the crystal clear waters and beautiful beaches of Monkey Mia.

Day 10 Tour to Kalbarri

Enjoy a hearty breakfast this morning before travelling to Hamelin Pool to see the unique colony of Stromatolites, described as the earliest record of life in the world.

Later, continue into the spectacular Kalbarri National Park and take in breathtaking views and scenery of the Murchison River Gorge.

Day 11 Tour to Perth

Leave Kalbarri today for your journey back to Perth.

Domestic border restrictions have ended for nearly all States, meaning you:
