DAY 1 Welcome to Adelaide

As you arrive into Adelaide you can feel the history and culture of 'The City of Churches'. You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some free time this morning to wander the beautiful streets of Adelaide, perhaps delving deeper into some of the attractions you were introduced to during your Adelaide city tour like Beehive Corner at Rundle Mall, Adelaide Oval, the National Wine Centre or maybe take a peaceful stroll along the River Torrens. 

Just a short drive from the heart of Adelaide’s bustling CBD, the Adelaide Hills feels like stepping into a whole new world. Nestled within the breathtaking Mt Lofty Ranges, this enchanting region is a patchwork of charming historic villages, boutique cellar doors, and stunning, unspoiled landscapes. This afternoon we embark on a journey to discover its magic, including a stop in the storybook-like German village of Hahndorf, where history and culture come alive. 

We depart Adelaide and begin our ascend through the rolling hills of the Mt Lofty Ranges on our way to experience the spectacular views from the Mount Lofty Summit Lookout. The views from here out over Adelaide from Glenelg to the Gulf of St Vincent are nothing short of breathtaking. See the villages of Crafers, Stirling, and Aldgate and Bridgewater set amongst the lush greenness of the Adelaide Hills. Stop at the famous Beerenberg Farm Shop, a household name throughout Australia and beyond with time to taste and purchase some of the delights from their full range of products. Visit Australia's oldest German settlement – Hahndorf - where we pause to relish some delicious afternoon tea or a traditional German beer tasting at the popular Hahndorf Inn. We then enjoy some free time to stroll under the Elm trees along Hahndorf's main street and discover quaint cottages, historic inns, artisan food producers, craft shops and tea rooms.
