DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Welcome to Broome! You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities or explore Broome. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

Discover the enchanting allure of Broome, where a breathtaking tapestry of fiery hues paint the sky at sunset - and the turquoise waters lapping Cable Beach beckon your soul. Broome is the spectacular western gateway to the incredible Kimberley region. It exudes a laid-back tropical ambience, an outback oasis with sweeping white sand beaches, where turquoise waters contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth. This historic pearling town sits on the west of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west.

DAY 2 Explore Broome

Cosmopolitan Broome is the gateway to the beautiful Kimberley region of Western Australia. This vibrant town has a wealth of interesting things to see and do including the Japanese Cemetery, Matso's Brewery and the Courthouse Markets. You May like to take a sunset camel ride along Cable Beach, shop for pearls in Chinatown and discover dinosaur footprints at Gantheaume Point.

Spend the day exploring Broome before enjoying a special dinner with your fellow travellers with spectacular views of the Indian Ocean.

DAY 3 Explore Broome

Spend the day exploring this tropical hideaway. Visit Roebuck Bay, famous Cable Beach or spend the day by the pool reading a book. The choice is yours.

DAY 4 Tour from Broome to Fitzroy Crossing

Feel the ancient history of pre-historic dinosaurs at Gantheaume Point before travelling to Geikie Gorge to enjoy a magnificent cruise along the Fitzroy River beside this ancient Devonian Reef. Look out for fruit bats, freshwater crocodiles and wallabies while cruising through the gorge - continue on to Fitzroy Crossing for the night.

DAY 5 Fitzroy Crossing to Halls Creek

Tour from Fitzroy Crossing to Halls Creek via the Yiyili indigenous community. The community is home to roughly 250 residents living on Louisa Downs, a cattle station owned and operated by the residents. Visit Laari Gallery, the community's art gallery before continuing your journey to Halls Creek.

DAY 6 Halls Creek to El Questro

This morning visit Argyle Diamond Mine, once the largest supplier of naturally coloured diamonds in the world. Join a local Indigenous Guide for a behind the scenes look at where the magic once took place and the cultural significance of the site. Travel along the legendary Gibb River Road to the gigantic and world famous El Questro Wilderness Park.

DAY 7 Discover El Questro

Travel across the Pentecost River for a gorge cruise. Enjoy a free afternoon to do as you please and this evening, enjoy dinner at the resort.

Enjoy breakfast on the resort’s large verandah before travelling across the Pentecost River for a cruise along the Chamberlain Gorge. Spend some time at the station before heading back to Emma Gorge Resort. Delight in a free afternoon before dinner and drinks at the resort.

DAY 8 El Questro to Kununurra

First up visit Hoochery Distillery, makers of Ord River Rum. Learn about how Spike Dessert and his family came to open the distillery before you sit down and try their famous Ord River Rum Cake for morning tea. Delish! Later enjoy a visit to the historic Durack Homestead Museum. The homestead was originally built in 1895 by the famous pioneering Durack family and was faithfully removed brick by brick from its original location and reconstructed to become a museum when Lake Argyle, Australia's largest man-made lake was filled. Later, cruise along the Ord River from Lake Argyle back to Kununurra and experience the abundance of birdlife these permanent waters have brought to the region. Experience a magical sunset on the water before you arrive in the Kununurra.

DAY 9 Explore Kununurra

Today, perhaps take an optional early morning scenic flight over the spectacular Bungle Bungle beehive domes before a tour of Mirima National Park, or you may like to forgo your tour of Mirima for a full day in-depth 4WD tour of the Bungle Bungle Ranges (Purnululu).

Kununurra is the hub of local industry for agriculture, tourism and mining in the East Kimberley. On your walking tour today you'll visit Mirima National Park (known as the mini-bungles for its rocky resemblance), - home to a big variety of wildlife including many species of birds, all manner of reptiles, wallabies, bats, dingoes and echidna. Perhaps view the town from Kelly's Knob Lookout before enjoying a free afternoon to relax – and then join your group to share your days experiences over a delicious dinner.

DAY 10 Kununurra to Katherine

After breakfast leave the pastoral leases of Kununurra and tour towards Katherine in the Top End – where we enjoy a spectacular Outback Show.

DAY 11 Katherine to Darwin

This morning travel to Nitmiluk National Park and enjoy a cruise through the majestic Katherine Gorge. Feel the spirituality of the land while you learn about the Jawoyn people, the traditional owners of the land. Later travel north along the Stuart Highway towards Darwin. On arrival, enjoy a tour of the city before joining your fellow travellers for a special dinner.

DAYS 12-13 Explore Darwin

Spend the next two days exploring Darwin at your own pace. Maybe visit famous Mindil Beach or the cafes and restaurants of Mitchell Street. Alternatively, maybe visit Kakadu National Park, Litchfield National Park or one of the many other sights the Top End has to offer. The choice is yours.
