DAY 1 Fly to Broome

Broome is the western gateway to the spectacular Kimberley region. This historic pearling town sits on the western edge of the vast and remote Kimberley region and is the largest town in Australia's ruggedly beautiful north west. Broome exudes a laid back ambience, an outback oasis with white sand beaches, sensational Cable Beach and shimmering turquoise waters which contrast vividly with the red ochre pindan earth.

You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities. Enjoy a leisurely evening to spend your own way.

DAY 2 Broome Town Tour

The perfect introduction to Broome, your half day tour of the township will take you to all of the major attractions and landmarks, including ancient rocky outcrops and the spectacular coastline. Hear about Broome’s heritage and how it shaped the town. Visit Chinatown, the Japanese Cemetery, Gantheaume Point and Cable Beach.

At the end of the tour, enjoy a Pearling Master’s high tea and a Pearl Luggers Tour. Combining the historical and cultural influences of Broome, you’ll enjoy tea, coffee or a glass of sparkling wine on arrival followed by sweet and savoury treats.

DAY 3 Explore Broome

Broome is a vibrant and cosmopolitan town with a proud pearling history, the town is blessed with a fantastic climate and an abundance of stunning natural beauty, a visit to the Japanese Cemetery where perished Japanese pearl divers are interred brings home the human cost of Broome's colourful pearling history, other attractions include Cable Beach, Matso's Brewery and bustling Chinatown.

Enjoy a day at leisure and experience Broome at your own pace, before meeting up with your guide for a Welcome Dinner.

DAY 4 Tour from Broome to Bell Gorge

Travel inland towards Tunnel Creek and wade through the cool waters that fill the tunnels path with torch in hand and emerge on the other side to an oasis. Continue on to Windjana Gorge and admire the ancient fossils embedded in the gorge’s walls. Travel into the massive King Leopold Range National Park and arrive at Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge. Relax in your tented cabin for the next two nights.

DAY 5 Explore Bell Gorge

Travel on the Gibb River Road to Bell Gorge and its stunning waterholes. Take a swim above the waterfall that feed the pool, go birdwatching or take a hike to the lower pool of the gorge.

DAY 6 Bell Gorge to Drysdale River Station

Travel through the Kimberley cattle country to Galvan’s Gorge and a picturesque waterhole. Admire the rock art of the gorge or take a swim before continuing on to Manning Gorge where you can enjoy lunch in the shade of a gum tree while birdwatching.

DAY 7 Drysdale River Station to Mitchell Falls

Travel up Kalumburu road towards the Mitchell Plateau. Discover the Wandjina and Gwion Gwion art galleries which are up to 60,000 years old. Swim in the King Edward River before arriving at your accommodation for the next two nights, the Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge.

DAY 8 Mitchell Falls Helicopter Flight

After breakfast, hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rock art before continuing to Big Mertens Falls and then arriving at Mitchell Falls. Enjoy a swim in the river before a helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls back o the vehicle. Alternatively, you can choose to hike back with your guide.

DAY 9 Mitchell Falls to Emma Gorge

Rejoin the Gibb River Road and continue to the Ford and Pentecost Rivers. Reach El Questro Wilderness Park and stay two nights at the Emma Gorge Resort in El Questro.

DAY 10 Explore Emma Gorge

Explore El Questro with a local ranger today. Take a cruise along Chamberlain Gorge and after lunch head to Zebedee Springs, a permanent natural thermal spring. Later, return to Emma Gorge and enjoy dinner.

DAY 11 Emma Gorge to the Bungle Bungles

Journey deep into the heart of Purunulu National Park and travel along the Spring Creek Track. Hike to Echidna Chasm, a narrow, deep cleft in the rock. Later continue to the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, your accommodation for the next two nights for dinner.

DAY 12 Explore the Bungle Bungles

Walk along Piccaninny Creek through the Bungle Bungles. Stop at Cathedral Gorge, a massive natural amphitheatre. Marvel at the domes while your guide brings to life the history of the range. Enjoy sunset drinks at the Bungle Bungles before returning to the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge for the night.

DAY 13 Bungle Bungles to Kununurra

DAY 14 Explore Kununurra

Travel to the majestic Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere, to join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River.

DAY 15 Kununurra to Katherine

DAY 16 Explore Kakadu

After breakfast take a Katherine Gorge cruise and learn about the music, stories and ways of the Jawoyn people. Continue to Kakadu, Australia’s most famous national park. Travel to Nourlangie Rock to view Aboriginal rock art, cruise down the Yellow Water Billabong and learn about how the Bininj people use flora and fauna to support their way of life. Spend the next two nights in a restricted area of Kakadu at the Hawk Dreaming Wilderness Lodge.

DAY 17 Explore Arnhem Land

DAY 18 Tour to Darwin

Located within Kakadu, visit Ubirr and encounter the galleries of ancient Aboriginal art that is more than 40,000 years old.
