DAY 1 Welcome to Brisbane

Feel the youthful vibrancy of this modern forward-looking city as you arrive into Brisbane. You will be personally met at the airport by a DISCOVER AUSTRALIA representative and transferred from the airport to your hotel. You can relax and use the rest of the day to explore your hotel and its facilities, perhaps take a stroll around the neighbourhood and central Brisbane.

DAY 2 Brisbane Tour, River Cruise & Wheel of Brisbane

Cosmopolitan Brisbane is home to lush subtropical parklands, a friendly welcoming ambience and a thriving cafe-culture. Meandering its way through this beautiful city is the enticing Brisbane River, the perfect companion for Brisbane's outdoor lifestyle. Australia's third-largest city is well known for its green leafy parks, urban inner-city villages, bustling streets, interesting laneways, art galleries, museums and South Bank with its lush riverside gardens, markets, and massive lagoon.

Today we tour this energetic city, experience the iconic view from Kangaroo Point, cruise the Brisbane River and travel on the massive Wheel of Brisbane. As we tour through the main attractions, you will get a deep appreciation of Brisbane's rich history and see the spectacular architecture that characterises Queensland's capital city.

Your friendly driver will pick you up in the comfortable air-conditioned luxury coach before sharing experiences, fascinating facts and enchanting stories in the onboard full commentary throughout the day. See Cathedral Square, Botanic Gardens (premier subtropical botanic gardens), pass under famous Story Bridge, see Parliament House, Conrad Treasury Hotel, Anzac Square, City Hall, Kangaroo Point Cliffs (amazing panoramic views of Brisbane's shimmering skyline and the river), cross Captain Cook Bridge and Story Bridge, tour through hip Fortitude Valley, Chinatown and see Queens Street Mall (main city shopping area). Onboard the Brisbane River Cruise you will travel through the scenic heart of the city, see the spectacular views of waterfront homes, the Brisbane skyline, South Bank parklands, cruise under Story Bridge and enjoy a delicious morning tea. DAY 3 Tangalooma Dolphins

Discover the wonders of a tropical island escape today - waiting to be explored is a pristine wonderland at Tangalooma Resort on Moreton Island. Just a 75 minute ferry trip from Brisbane, Tangalooma is the Gateway to Moreton Island. Known it's crystal clear waters, white sand and untouched national parks, this winning combination is sure to please everyone. Moreton Island is the third largest sand island in the world and home to the highest coastal sand dune in the world, Mount Tempest - the perfect spot to give you 360 degrees of breath-taking views. The Island is also home to amazing natural flora and fauna - spend the day at leisure at Tangalooma Island Resort and enjoy some of the many activities on offer to help you discover and connect with the natural wildlife and environment of Moreton Island. With everything at your door, adventure and relaxation awaits!

You may choose to experience some of the Resorts' free activities - with plenty of activities on offer it will be hard to know what to do first! For nature lovers , see the Australian Pelicans, the largest of the pelican species from the Tangalooma Jetty at the Pelican Feeding & Sea Bird Talk or learn about the iconic Australian bird , the Kookaburra, at the Kookaburra Feeding. The Tangalooma Island Resort also offers a selection of casual sporting areas, perfect for a relaxing afternoon game - enjoy tennis, squash, boule, basketball, badminton and croquet are just to name a few. Swim in the resort pools or crystal clear unspoilt beaches. Perfect for some relaxed fun with the family, enjoy the island famously known as the "Playground by the beach". Tangalooma Water Sports offer a variety of interesting demonstrations great for the whole family - learn how to work a motor boat or sail a catamaran. You will also have the chance to learn about the sustainable whale watch tourism and conservation of the island at the Old Whaling Station Tours & Talks and at the Helicopter Workshop , learn how the helicopter flies and meet the pilot!

There's something to tempt everyone with the resorts selection of dining experiences tailored to a laid-back and casual getaway. With both local and internationally inspired flavours on offer, you are sure to have a memorable dining and takeaway experience. With your lunch voucher provided, you may like to enjoy a casual beach style meal while enjoying live music, and a refreshing beverage from the newly constructed resort bar.

After lunch, you have the choice of afternoon experience - Cruise down the dunes of the Tangalooma desert as you take to the hills on the desert safari and toboggan down giant dunes. If you feel the need for speed, then take a journey to the scenic Tangalooma Desert region as part of a thrilling 4WD bus tour and take part in the exhilarating sport of sand tobogganing. If you don't like sand in your shoes, instead you can journey along the coastline in search of dolphins, dugongs, green sea turtles, sea cucumbers, rays and more! Hop on board the purpose built catamaran which provides unobstructed views of Moreton Bay’s intriguing marine life. With a full eco commentary provided, learn about the habitats and behaviours of the local marine creatures.
As you cruise back to Brisbane, look back to Moreton Island which has surprised and delighted you with a day of memorable highlights and a tropical island getaway.

DAY 4 Australian Zoo & Sunshine Coast

CRIKEY! Australia Zoo is home to The ‘Crocodile Hunter’ and is one of the best wildlife conservation facilities in the world. Made famous by Steve, Terri, Bindi and Robert Irwin in their global documentaries, the sheer amount and variety of mammals, reptiles, birds and attractions here is mind-blowing. Throw out your old ideas about the ultimate zoo experience, here you will be invited to get up close and personal, hand-feed and maybe cuddle the wildlife. The five-thousand capacity Animal Planet Crocoseum hosts various crocodile, snake and bird shows, whilst the African Safari exhibit replicates the Serengeti complete with zebras, rhinos and giraffes.

Today you will experience the thrilling and action packed wildlife shows and meet many of the 1200 animals across the 100 acres of the world famous Australia Zoo. You'll experience wildlife like nowhere else. Roving animal teams walk around the grounds throughout the day with various animals such as alligators, birds, snakes, and lizards so you can meet them and have your photo taken with them. There are 4 walk-through enclosures where you can enter and hand feed the animals. View crocodile feedings and participate in elephant feedings. Jump on Steve's Safari Shuttle hosted by friendly and knowledgeable guides.

We tour north from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast, past the magnificent Glasshouse Mountains and onto Australia Zoo. Steve and Terri Irwin's vision has always been to make Australia Zoo the biggest and best wildlife conservation facility in the entire world, and indeed there is no other zoo like Australia Zoo. Don't miss the slithering, swooping, jaw-snapping action of the Wildlife Warrior Show in the massive Animal Planet Crocoseum stadium. Other major attractions include: African Safari (multi-species replica of the Serengeti ecosystem, showcasing zebra, rhino, giraffe interacting as they would in the wild, cheetahs are housed separately), Tiger Temple (critically endangered Sumatran, Bengal tigers, resembles Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia), Elephantasia (12-acre elephant enclosure, wading pool with a fountain and tropical gardens), South-East Asian Precinct and the Australia Zoo Wildlife Hospital (check out the state-of-the-art hospital, Australia's busiest wildlife hospital, watch the team of vets save our precious wildlife). The Irwin's most honourable objective of educating the world about animal conservation and increasing the chances of protecting all wildlife is truly being fulfilled and you will be a part of this ongoing achievement today.

DAY 5 Explore Brisbane

Brisbane is abuzz with creative ways to spend your day. Soak up the subtropical climate, explore the river, botanical parks, museums, shopping precincts or South Bank, Brisbane's premier lifestyle and cultural destination.

Today explore Brisbane at your own pace. There is so much to choose from in this major city. The many major attractions include Queen Street Mall (vibrant shopping and lifestyle precinct lies at the heart of Brisbane), various markets, The Gabba, ANZAC Square War Memorial, City Botanic Gardens (Brisbane's oldest park, originally planted by convicts in 1825), Roma Street Parkland (spectacular subtropical plant displays, sweeping vistas and unique artwork), Queensland Museum and Sciencentre (home to millions of objects, specimens and artefacts that tell the changing story of Queensland), Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art (state's premier visual arts institution), The Courier-Mail Piazza (entertainment hub), Maritime Museum, Performing Arts Centre, Conservatorium and of course South Bank (17 hectares of lush parklands, world-class eateries, stunning river views and hundreds of delightful events all year round make it the perfect place to relax and unwind). Admire the remarkable colonial and modern architecture, including The Ship Inn (built in 1864), The Plough Inn (1885, part of World Expo 88 festivities), South Brisbane Railway Station, The Arbour, The Goodwill Bridge (450 metre long footbridge that links South Bank to the Botanic Gardens), Performing Arts Centre, State Library, Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre (BCEC) and River Quay.
