DAY 3 Murray River Cruise
Unwind on a lazy Murray River cruise, this ancient river will enchant you, the ever changing scenery a delight as you immerse yourself in one of the world's most diverse river systems, hear tales of history and folklore as your crew provide expert onboard commentary, as you pass giant red gum trees and sheer ochre cliffs spot for pink cockatoo, red-capped robin, malleefowl and pelican.

DAY 5 Murray River Cruise
The Murray Riverlands are home to a wonderful and diverse variety of native plants and animals, gnarled red river gums dot the waters edge, mallee trees and native pines abound, the mighty river teems with fish including Murray cod and Australian smelt, small animals such as frogs, snakes and possums make the scenic riverbanks their home.
Today experience a guided nature walk before taking in the big river gorges and cliffs of the upper river. Enjoy a presentation on the food and wine of the region before joining a wildlife tour on your small discovery vessel. Enjoy bocce or fishing challenges before joining the Captain and Officers for pre-dinner drinks and the Captain’s Dinner and Dance.

Following your tour of Adelaide, embark on a leisurely scenic cruise along the Torrens River on board the famous Adelaide icon, “The Popeye”. Take in the picturesque scenery and prolific birdlife as you cruise through the heart of this wonderful city. Finish your cruise at Elder Park and spend some time taking in this beautiful oasis in the heart of Adelaide.

DAY 8 Victor Harbor with McLaren Vale
The Fleurieu Peninsula is a holiday playground of wineries, seaside towns and lakes whose population trebles during holiday periods. The splendid seaside resort township of Victor Harbour is where the mouth of the massive Murray River finally meets the ocean. The internationally respected wine region of McLaren Vale has more than 60 cellar doors and produces amazing Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines. The old paddle-steamer port of Goolwa is on Lake Alexandrina, near the Murray Mouth, and is joined by a bridge to Hindmarsh Island
Tour through the Mt Lofty Ranges with its many quaint villages and panoramic views. Stop at historic Strathalbyn on the Angas River. See the river Port of Goolwa (where the Murray River meets the lakes and sea), Port Elliot, Horseshoe Bay, Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor. Perhaps ride a horse drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island. Enjoy some free time to explore Victor Harbor. Then onto McLaren Vale wine region to see the vineyards, leafy olive groves, almond groves and magnificent old stone wineries. Perhaps taste top local wines at Hardys Tintara Cellar Door, sample produce at Medlows Confectionary and sample produce at Almond Train. Take in the views of the picturesque coastal seaside towns, before heading north back to Adelaide to conclude your full day of exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula.

Kalgoorlie (Perth to Adelaide): Stop and discover unique Kalgoorlie. Historic Kalgoorlie is the birthplace of Western Australia's mineral wealth, sparked by the massive gold rush following Paddy Hannan's initial discovery in 1893. Today, Kalgoorlie produces 10% of the world's gold and is a vibrant, prosperous modern town with its rich history clearly visible through its amazing colonial architecture.
Cook (Perth to Adelaide): You will also stop at Cook (South Australia) the almost deserted ghost town 826km from Augusta, with a current resident population of 4 people and named after the sixth Prime Minister of Australia, Joseph Cook. Explore the amazing deserted streets to see the now unused historic buildings and the crossing loop on the standard gauge Trans-Australian Railway.
Cook is a railway station on the standard gauge rail line from Port Augusta to Kalgoorlie with no inhabited places around.
The town was established in 1917 when the railway was built and was named after the sixth Prime Minister of Australia, Joseph Cook. The town in on the longest stretch of straight railway in the world, at 478 kilometres from Ooldea to beyond Loongana. The bush hospital is closed, the swimming pool is empty but Cook still has the ability to spark your curiosity. Ask your Hospitality Attendant for your self guided walking map of Cook.
Broken Hill (Sydney to Adelaide): Stop and discover amazing Broken Hill. This major producer of silver, lead and zinc is known as Silver City. It is the birthplace of global mining powerhouse BHP, that is named after Broken Hill. The PS Murray Princess is an authentic inland paddlewheeler built for the Murray River, with a character and charm of yesteryear. It is the largest inland paddlewheeler in the southern hemisphere. Catering for just 120 passengers, she brings the unique advantages of small ship cruising to the remarkable setting of Australia’s outback and the mighty Murray River system.
The onboard atmosphere is relaxed and informal by style. The lounge features a majestic view of the paddlewheel in action through the two story viewing window. Upper and lower lounge areas are accessed by the classic brass and mahogany style spiral staircase.
