Cape Le Grand is located some 50 km east of Esperance in the far south west of Western Australia. Cape Le Grand was named in 1792 by the French explorer Bruni Dentrecasteaux.
Cape Le Grand National Park
Cape Le Grand is one of the closest and most popular National Parks in the Esperance region. The park has spectacular coastal scenery, some good white-sand beaches and excellent walking tracks.
Cape Le Grand National Park Attractions
Cape Le Grand affords fine views across from Frenchmans Peak, at the western end of the park and good fishing, camping and swimming at Lucky Bay and Le Grand Beach. The numerous walking trails of Cape Le Grand range from just a few hundred metres to an extremely scenic 15 km coastal track, which winds from Le Grand Beach in the west via Hellfire Bay, to Rossiter Bay on the eastern side of Cape Le Grand. Fit walkers should allow about 6-8 hours one way the walk, alternatively this Cape Le Grand trail is also broken into smaller sections.The Le Grand Heritage Trail 2km has also recently been established. The Le Grand Heritage Trail is well sign posted.
