Situated in the South East region of Tasmania, Cambridge is some 12kms east of Hobart and 184kms south of Launceston. Or there are great surfing and swimming beaches along South Arm and Opossum Bay such as South Arm Beach, Fort Beach, and Musk Beach.
As a gateway to the Coal River Valley, Cambridge is an ideal base to explore this world-renowned cool-climate wine district. The first cellar door en route to the historic town of Richmond is the expansive five-hectare vineyard, Coal Valley Vineyard. Other wineries offering tastings and sales at the cellar door within the region include Meadowbank Estate, Palmara Vineyard and Craigow Vineyard.
