North Sydney Sydney New South Wales Australia
North Sydney, is all part of what is known as Sydneys North Shore which starts on the northern side of the Harbour Bridge. This precinct is generally more prosperous than the south and has some stunning waterfront real estate and beautifully intact harbourside bushland.
Kirribilli House
Australias Prime Minister is given an official residence known as Kirribilli House, which stands majestically on Kirribilli Point. Next door to the Prime Minister is the Queens representative for Australias head of state, the Governor-General.
North Sydney Attractions
The majority of North Sydney is taken up with business offices, however, there are a few points of interest.
On Lavender Bay is Luna Park, an amusement park. To the West of the bridge amongst the offices you'll find McMahons Point, hosting a number of cafes on Blues Point Road.
Along the coast there are several pretty coves and parks on the harbourside, including Cremorne, Neutral Bay and Mosman. Mosman also hosts Taronga Park Zoo, home to loads of Australian animals. Like the other coves you can get to it by ferry from Circular Quay.
A ferry ride around the Harbour provides the opportunity to see the beaches, yachts and stylish waterfront residences of this area.
Next to the wharf in North Sydney is a quaint open access sea pool for swimming and just past the pool there's a very pretty walk along Shell Cove.
