Head to the Adelaide Hills to explore one of Australian best and most famous wine-producing regions, now regarded as one of finest in the world, and is home to Australia's most expensive wine, Penfolds Grange. Enjoy your delicious Special Lunch at a renowned winery restaurant, including tastings, winemaking tour and wine education. Explore some of the quaint and charming villages in the Adelaide Hills, part of the Mount Lofty Ranges. See the heavy influence of the original German settlers, such as buildings with steeply sloping roofs, Lutheran stone churches and the local versions of Germanic cuisine. Visit Hahndorf, the beautiful Lutheran settlement dating back to 1838, with its arts, crafts, cottage industry shops, pubs, traditional smallgoods and bakeries that evoke the tastes and smells of Bavaria.

DAY 4 Board the Murray Princess and Cruise to Caurnamont
This afternoon get transferred to Mannum to begin your 5 day Murray princess Outback Heritage Cruise. Enjoy a Welcome Dinner as you cruise north towards Caurnamont. Look for nocturnal wildlife on the riverbank such as kangaroos, hairy-nosed wombats, tortoises and many other species as you enjoy music from your onboard entertainer and cruise under floodlight to your overnight mooring at Caurnamont.
Transfer to Mannum, Welcome Dinner, Onboard Entertainment, Overnight Accommodation Onboard the P.S. Murray Princess.
DAY 5 Cruise from Caurnamont to Blanchetown
Take in the spectacular Murray River scenery at daybreak and watch for the prolific birdlife of the area including swans, pelicans and wrens. Enjoy a leisurely morning as you continue cruising north towards Blanchetown through one of the 13 locks that maintain the flow and water levels of the Murray River.
Arrive at your overnight mooring of Blanchetown this afternoon. As the sun sets, enjoy a guided tour of Burk Salter Wines vineyards and enjoy a wine tasting at the beautiful cellar door that is fitted out with red gum bars. Later enjoy canapés and a two course dinner.
After breakfast cruise to Swan Reach, now home to native flower and fruit growers, the town was first settled in the 1850’s and was the largest of five sheep and cattle stations in the area.
Enjoy a guided walking tour of the township and visit the Swan Reach Museum. Cruise south towards Sunnydale after and take in the tranquillity of the area as you reach your overnight mooring. On arrival at Sunnydale, watch the Woolshed Show, an insight into typical Australian Woolshed history. Later, visit the Native Wildlife Shelter where you can see some of South Australia’s most interesting native animals, before enjoying a special barbecue dinner cooked and served on the banks of the Murray River. After dinner you may choose to take an optional nocturnal tour to look for wildlife.
This morning, enjoy an early morning bush walk with the captain or you may choose to experience and optional Bush Tucker Breakfast. Cruise downriver to Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve while taking in views of the spectacular cliffs scoured by the river over millions of years.
Ngaut Ngaut Aboriginal Reserve is one of Australia’s most significant archaeological sites and home to the Nganguraku people who have lived there for at least 5000 years. Take a guided tour along the boardwalk to view ancient rock carvings and learn about the Aboriginal history of the area.
Later, return to the P.S. Murray princess and continue cruising south to your overnight mooring, Younghusband. Enjoy a speedboat ride along the way if you wish. Tonight enjoy a spectacular Captain’s Farewell Buffet Dinner. You have the opportunity to dress and enjoy a dance if you wish!
Today marks the end of your Murray River adventure. Cruise back to Mannum this morning. Say farewell to the Captain and crew after breakfast and get transferred to Adelaide your central Adelaide hotel.

DAY 9 Victor Harbor with McLaren Vale
The Fleurieu Peninsula is a holiday playground of wineries, seaside towns and lakes whose population trebles during holiday periods. The splendid seaside resort township of Victor Harbor is where the mouth of the massive Murray River finally meets the ocean. The internationally respected wine region of McLaren Vale has more than 60 cellar doors and produces amazing Shiraz, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay wines. The old paddle-steamer port of Goolwa is on Lake Alexandrina, near the Murray Mouth, and is joined by a bridge to Hindmarsh Island.
Tour through the Mt Lofty Ranges with its many quaint villages and panoramic views. Stop at historic Strathalbyn on the Angas River. See the river Port of Goolwa (where the Murray River meets the lakes and sea), Port Elliot, Horseshoe Bay, Encounter Bay and Victor Harbor. Perhaps ride a horse drawn tram across the causeway to Granite Island. Enjoy some free time to explore Victor Harbor. Then onto McLaren Vale wine region to see the vineyards, leafy olive groves, almond groves and magnificent old stone wineries. Perhaps taste top local wines at Hardys Tintara Cellar Door, sample produce at Medlow Confectionery and sample produce at Almond Train. Take in the views of the picturesque coastal seaside towns, before heading north back to Adelaide to conclude your full day of exploring the Fleurieu Peninsula.

The PS Murray Princess is an authentic inland paddlewheeler built for the Murray River, with a character and charm of yesteryear. It is the largest inland paddlewheeler in the southern hemisphere. Catering for just 120 passengers, she brings the unique advantages of small ship cruising to the remarkable setting of Australia’s outback and the mighty Murray River system.
The onboard atmosphere is relaxed and informal by style. The lounge features a majestic view of the paddlewheel in action through the two story viewing window. Upper and lower lounge areas are accessed by the classic brass and mahogany style spiral staircase.
