Day 1 Adelaide - Wilpena Pound

From Adelaide, the most interesting way north includes the hillside vineyards of the Clare Valley plus several beautiful character country towns.

Enjoy expansive views of the Flinders Ranges as you approach Wilpena Pound, one of Australia's most magnificent natural features.

Camp tonight under native pines against a backdrop of mountains.

Day 2 Wilpena - Flinders Ranges - Angorichina

Most of your day is free for a choice of spectacular walks and challenging climbs, inlcuding Mt Ohlsen Bagge. The views are breathtaking.

An afternoon drive on gravel roads meanders through the ranges to the historic mining village of Blinman.

Enjoy a stop over at Angorichina store. There are great views of the colourful, ancient ranges along the way and from your bunkhouse style accommodation.

Discover a refreshing waterhole in a nearby gully.

Day 3 Angorichina - William Creek

Discover the Parachilna Gorge and the vast Outback plains. Enjoy a stop at Copley Bakery - your last cappuccino opportunity for 300kms!

Pass through the Leigh Creek coalmines as you continue North to Lyndhurst to visit Talc Alf - an eccentric outback philosopher and sculptor.

Marvel at the Aboriginal ochre pits before exploring Marree's Old Ghan rail station. Enjoy a visit to the Arabunna Aboriginal Cultural Centre.

Travel on the Oodnadatta Track to Lake Eyre and the fascinating thermal mound springs. Enjoy an overnight stay in swags at William Creek.

Day 4 William Creek - Coober Pedy

Travel to Coober Pedy and encounter a variety of desert landscapes from red dunes to salt pans and gibber plains.

A refreshing detour to Lake Cadibarrawirracanna before the moonscape taked over beyong the Dog Fence.

Enjoy a tour of Coober Pedy - underground house, mine tour, opal cutting, an underground church. Free time to explore and 'noodle' (fossick) for opals.

Experience underground bunkhouse accommodation with fellow travel companions.

Day 5 Coober Pedy - Uluru

The back way out of Coober Pedy takes us through the colourful Breakaways formations - the site of Mad Max 3.

Enjoy the relaxing drive along the Stuart and Lasseter Highways, via Marla and Erldunda to famous Uluru.

By special invitation, you may have the opportunity to visit the 'AP Lands' to call in at Iwantja Arts - subject to cultural circumstances on the day.

View the changing vegetation on the way to Uluru. Arrive in time for a spectacular sunset viewing before setting up camp at Yalura, in view of Uluru.

Day 6 - 7 Uluru - Katatjuta - Kings Creek

Enjoy an early morning walk on both days. In hot weather long walks can only be done in the cool of the morning.

Plenty of time for a choice of exciting Uluru walks and the Aboriginal Cultural Centre, or take a guided walk in the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta.

You have the chance to enjoy free time in the afternoon to take part in local indigenous tours, air flights or just relax by the pool.

Travel to Kings Creek Station and set up camp on this operating cattle station.

Day 8 Kings Creek - Kings Canyon - Alice Springs

Another big morning hike will take you up and around the rim of Kings Canyon for 3 hours.

Discover the sandstone domes of the Lost City, the canyon walls and cool off in the Garden of Eden pool.

Enjoy amazing views along the Canyon. You have many opportunities to take photographs.

Relax as you travel through Rainbow Valley into Alice Springs, set amidst the MacDonnell Ranges. Arrive approximately 7.00pm.
