Day 1 Darwin to Katherine
Depart Darwin Rail Terminal on the mighty Ghan seated in the Red Service and enjoy a relaxed journey along the “track” to Katherine. A duration of approximately four hours.
This is a great way to see some real Top End outback country also small townships like Adelaide River. You may be lucky to see some wildlife as you slowly pass, even brolgas have been seen dancing on the low lying water holes!
Journey to the Nitmiluk National Park where you will encounter the vast sandstone country with its broad valleys and numerous cultural sites and the deep gorge carved into the sandstone by the Katherine River.
Cruise along the Katherine River and witness the many sights of the surrounding gorge and the Nitmiluk National Park. On your return to Katherine you will be transferred to your accommodation.

Day 2 Katherine to Cooinda
Depart Katherine at 7.30am and journey to Kakadu National Park where you will enjoy the many attractions within the Park over the next two days.
Enjoy the splendour of Edith Falls, a deep permanentpool fringed by pandanus palms and high cliffs before entering Kakadu through the southern entrance via Pine Creek and Mary River.
Arrive in Cooinda and enjoy a delightful cruise on Yellow Water, Kakadus most famous wetland; as you cruise its tranquil waters encountering the abundant wildlife, birds and crocodiles in the light of the sunset.
Make your way to your overnight accommodation and enjoy a refreshing sleep to prepare you for your next big day.

Day 3 Cooinda to Kakadu to Darwin
Journey to the beautiful Nourlangie Rock and explore the natural formation and the aboriginal artwork that surrounds it, portraying Aboriginal mythology.
Explore many of the wonders of the Kakadu National Park and learn of its history by visiting the Bowali Visitor Centre, which will provide you with a vast wealth of knowledge on the region.Travel to Ubirr and witness a rock face that has been painted and repainted over the past 40,000 years with Aboriginal art work; view the vast array of wildlife at the East Alligator River including of course the Australian crocodile.
Enjoy a relaxing journey back to Darwin as you take in the beauty of the Northern Territory region.
