Day 1 Alice Springs - West MacDonnell Ranges - Alice Springs

Venture west for a day of panoramic mountain scenery, visiting tranquil waterholes, rocky gorges, dramatic natural gaps and clefts carved from the ranges. Swim in cool waterholes and explore the walking trails with your informative guide.

See the Ochre Pits that offer a fascinating insight into the many traditional uses of this natural pigment. Visit the grave of Flying Doctor pioneer Rev John Flynn providing a poignant reminder of the remoteness of Central Australia.

Return to Alice Springs late afternoon.

Day 2 Palm Valley

Today explore Finke Gorge National Park by 4WD. Make your way along the mostly dry bed of the Finke River. Further along the track the magnificent Amphitheatre provides a stunning oppotunity for photography, before finally reaching Palm Valley itself.

Experience a walk amongst the rare Red Cabbage Palms.

After a gourmet picnic lunch, travel back along the track to the sealed road to visit the Hermannsburg Historic Precinct founded by Lutheran missionaries in 1877.

Return to Alice Springs late afternoon.

Day 3 Gosse Bluff - Mereenie

Travel along Larapinta Drive to Wallace Rockhole, an Aboriginal Community. Join the Rock Art Tour with a local guide.

Explore Gosse Bluff, a comet impact crater 130 million years old. Learn of its aboriginal significance in this unique natural environment.

After lunch, return to the dirt road traversing the Mereenie Wilderness Area as the mountain valleys give way to open plains.

Enjoy an overnight stay at Kings Canyon and time to explore the area.

Day 4 Kings Canyon - Ayers Rock

Test your fitness with a climb to the rim of Kings Canyon with time to explore the Garden of Eden. Wonder at the exquisite environment of the George Hill Range.

Travel through vast cattle stations to Yulara and stop at Connor Lookout, which is often mistaken for Ayers Rock.

Visit the Uluru - Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before an informative base tour of Ayers Rock including Mutitjulu and Kantju Gorge.

Enjoy a magnificent sunset over a glass of champagne.

Day 5 The Olgas - Alice Springs

Explore the Olgas also known as Kata Tjuta in the pleasantness of the cool morning air.

Enjoy the scenic journey to Yulara in time to meet your flight or explore the resort before lunch.

After lunch you will depart for the beautiful scenic drive back to Alice Springs.
