Day 1 Arrive Darwin
Arrive in Darwin, and enjoy a cruise on the Darwin Harbour as you watch the sun go down.

Day 2 & 3 Darwin Free Time
Enjoy two free days to enjoy exploring historic and Darwin. Rebuilt extensively twice, after bombings during WW2 and the devastating Cyclone Tracy, Darwin is now a modern and vibrant town.
Why not visit a crocodile park, see the mysterious lost city rock formations, stroll through the lovely Botanic Garden, or perhaps see the historic Fannie Bay gaol or the Chinese Temple- a testament to the Chinese contribution to Darwins history.
Darwin has a very multicultural population, and this is reflected in the wide variety of dining experiences available. Discover markets, restaurants and cafés and enjoy the diversity in this tropical capital.

Day 4 Darwin to Kakadu
Visit Fogg Dam and see the informative Window On The Wetlands- learn about the variety of animals that make this wetland home. Continue along the Arnhem Highway and across the South Alligator River.
Visit Jabiru, the only town with in Kakadu National Park, and discover ancient Aboriginal rock art. The Gagudju Aboriginal people may have lived in the Kakadu region for up to 50,000 years and some of the artworks are estimated to date back 20,000 years.Visit the fascinating Bowali Visitor centre before continuing to make camp in the heart of Kakadu.

Day 5 Kakadu to Knotts Crossing
Enjoy an early morning cruise on the beautiful Yellow Waters billabong. Spot a huge variety of birds, crocodiles and wildflowers. Kakadu is home to a number of rare, endangered and endemic animals- a vibrant and precisely balanced ecosystem.
Travel through the former gold mining town of Pine Creek before arriving at the stunning Katherine Gorge, in tribally owned Nitmiluk National Park. This network of 13 gorges has been carved out of sandstone for over a billion years by the Katherine River.

Day 6 Knotts Crossing to Wauchope
Pass through the outback townships of Larrimah, Elliot and Renner Springs on the way to Wauchope, and the astonishing rock formation Karlu Karlu (Devils Marbles).
The huge boulders of Karlu Karlu have been worn smooth and round by a flaking process caused by heating and cooling of the rock over millennia. According to aboriginal legend, these are the eggs of the sacred Rainbow Serpent.

Day 7 Wauchope to Alice Springs
Traverse the Tropic of Capricorn as you head south through cattle country.
Visit the Royal Flying Doctor Base, Standley Chasm, the Old Telegraph Station and Simpsons gap in historic Alice Springs.

Day 8 Alice Springs Free Time
Explore Alice Springs at your leisure- perhaps take a hot air balloon flight, visiting the School of the Air, or exploring the desert in a 4WD

Day 9 Alice Springs
Visit the superb Alice Springs Desert Park, which showcases the variety of Central Australias desert landscapes, and allows visitors to see rare and endangered animals in the nocturnal house.
Experience an Aboriginal cultural experience with Arrernte community members, and learn to throw a boomerang, see kangaroo cooked outback style, discover the delights of bush tucker and enjoy billy tea and damper next to a campfire.

Day 10 Alice Springs to Kings Canyon
Visit Jims Place Roadhouse, home of the singing, piano playing dingo Dinky, before continuing to the Aboriginal art gallery in Mount Ebenezer Station.
Continue to Kings Canyon for a spectacular canyon rim walk. Part the Watarrka National Park; Kings Canyon is 270m deep in some sections, and hosts the Garden of Eden, a protected valley of year-round waterholes and flourishing vegetation.
Home to over 600 varieties of native plants and animals, the Watarrka National Park has been home to the Luritja Aboriginal people for more than 20,000 years.

Day 11 Kings Canyon to Uluru
Journey into the Uluru- Kata Tjuta National Park, and see the beautiful Kata Tjuta (the Olgas). Meaning many heads, these outcrops are sacred to the Aboriginal people, and have long captured the imagination of Australian artists.

Day 12 Uluru
Rise early to witness the spectacular sunrise over sacred Uluru, and visit the National Park Cultural Centre. It is possible to climb Uluru, but visitors are encouraged to respect the culture of the Anangu people and refrain from doing so.
Uluru is often mistakenly described as a monolith, but it and Kata Tjuta are both small peaks of the same huge, buried U-shaped piece of rock.
Explore the National Park at your leisure, perhaps taking a scenic flight over the stunning landscape.
