Day 1 Darwin – Katherine

Stop off at the spectacular Litchfield National Park with its popular swimming spots of Florence, Wangi, Tolmer Falls and the Buley Rockhole cascades. See the Magnetic Termite Mounds.

Day 2 Explore Katherine

The famous Katherine Gorge in the Nitmiluk NationalPark is the highlight here. See also Edith Falls and other features. Cruises and other local tours are available.

Day 3 Katherine - Kununurra

Journey through the tiny town of Timber Creek and the Gregory National Park after departing Katherine, on the banks of the Katherine River.Cross the State line into Western Australia.

Day 4 Explore Kununurra

You can easily self-drive around the local area, tothe banks of Lake Argyle, Hidden Valley, the town ofWyndham with its prolific bird life and billabongs.

Day tours are a great way to experience many of thedramatic jewels of the East Kimberley including: Bungle Bungles, Lake Argyle, Lake Kununurra, Ord River, the world’s largest diamond mine.

Day 5 Kununurra - Halls Creek

Leave Kununurra and continue through the vast Kimberley landscape towards Halls Creek, site of the first gold rush in Western Australia in 1885.

Day 6 Halls Creek - Fitzroy Crossing

Visit the pioneer’s cemetary, China Wall - a significant geological formation and some of the original gold mines.

Explore the famous Geike Gorge National Park. Perhaps join the local park rangers for a cruise on the Fitzroy River through the huge gorge and spot local wildlife - including sawfish, stingrays and freshwater crocodiles.

Day 7 Fitzroy Crossing - Broome

Travel through Cattle Country to the important andhistoric ‘beef’ town of Derby. Go inside the huge Prison Boab Tree, perhaps visit the Royal Flying Doctor Service en route to the pearling port of Broome.
