Day 1 Alice Springs Desert Park

This afternoon you are transferred to the Alice Springs Desert Park. Here, be introduced at your own pace to the many interesting facts of some of the world’s oldest deserts.

An informative film depicts the evolution of Central Australia - an apt introduction to the many displays representing some 70% of the Australian mainland.

Stroll through the 3 major desert habitats, complete with walk through aviaries. The Desert Park is home to the world’s largest nocturnal house and breeding programmes for many endangered species of the Australian bush.

Be enthralled by the free flying raptor display’s aerial supremacy and on ground antics at Nature’s Theatre. Tonight enjoy a welcoming outback dining experience.

Day 2 Gosse Bluff / Mereenie

Head due west avoiding the hustle and crowds of the main highway. Your outback adventure begins with a first hand insight into Aboriginal culture and their relationship to the land at Wallace Rock hole.

Further on, navigate the 4WD track into the comet impact crater called Gosse Bluff.

Enjoy a picnic lunch beneath the torn battlements of this 140 million year old phenomena.

After your leisurely lunch, venture by outback dirt road into the Mereenie Wilderness Area before arriving late afternoon at the foot of George Gill Range.

Day 3 Kings Canyon - Ayers Rock

Your guide will introduce you to the many wonders and options of the Kings Canyon area. For the energetic a climb to the rim encompassing vast horizons and unusual sandstone formations.

Alternatively experience at close quarters the flora and fauna of the most bio diverse park in the region on the canyon floor.

Enroute to Ayers Rock enjoy a picnic lunch in the Australian Outback. This afternoon visit the Uluru Kata Tjuta Cultural Centre before exploring the base of Uluru, inspiring and yet intimidating with its very size.

Feel the ambience of the world’s largest monolith, its rock art, shapes and colours. Enjoy a champagne sunset of tantalising Australian cuisine and sparkling wine overlooking the Rock.

Day 4 Kata Tjuta - Alice Springs

Rise early this morning to catch the first rays of light on Kata Tjuta (The Olgas). A chance to escape the crowds and enjoy the peace and quiet as the day dawns.

Explore on foot with your guide, learning the fascinating story of this intriguing formation before returning to the resort for lunch (own expense).

Midday sees your departure for Alice Springs.
