Glenorchy is also home to the Royal Hobart Showgrounds, the Elwick Racecourse and the Derwent Entertainment Centre. West of Berriedale, the historic New Norfolk boasts many intriguing old buildings, and a short drive south leads to the Hobart CBD offering many shopping, dining and entertainment precincts.

South of Berriedale, Wellington Park boasts endless recreational opportunities such as bushwalking, climbing, abseiling, cycling and sightseeing. Many great picnic and BBQ areas are also found within the National Park for that well deserved break. The views from the summit of Mt Wellington are spectacular.
