Located 32 km northeast of Mackay, Brampton Island is actually in the Cumberland Island Group, south of the major group of the Whitsundays. Brampton Island is a mountainous Island and is 8 square kilometres, 770 hectares. Most of the island is a national park with lush forests, palm trees and fine white beaches.
